Estate and Trust Administration

Probate is the legal process that includes the distribution of property as directed by a will, paying taxes and creditor debts, property appraisal, and the identification and inventory of the estate. At Sommer Law Group, P.C., our experienced attorneys can help you secure
an executor for your estate, together with taking all necessary steps to ensure that your will is considered valid upon probate. Depending on the contents of your will, the executor of your estate may have to decide whether to liquidate your property or the best means to pay off any outstanding debts that you may have.

By law, when a client passes away, the estate is required to file a Federal Estate Tax Return within a mandatory statutory period.
Sommer Law Group, P.C. can assist executors in preparing and filing this tax return. Our attorneys assist the client in determining the
“Fair Market Value” of the assets and will work to minimize the tax through the various available deductions. Furthermore, we may be
able to assist you in your payment options to the IRS so as to make the process as painless and simple as possible.

Will Contests

In a will conflict, the contestant will present evidence or reason why the will is invalid and should not be complied with. Common proof
of an invalid will includes improper signature, lack of testamentary capacity, undue influence, fraud, or a mistake in the will. At Sommer Law Group, P.C., our lawyers will provide you multiple levels of protection against will contests by making sure your estate is securely organized and represents your every intention in regards to how things will be distributed.

Through proper planning, Sommer Law Group, P.C. helps assist clients to predetermine their medical and financial decisions so
as to reduce the burden of difficult choices later in life. Contact our firm for a free initial consultation and review of estate planning documents today.
